Lorna runs a stall at the Leeds Vintage Fashion

Fair, held at The Adelphi on 15 November,

and will be launching UpStairs, a specialist

burlesque boutique, at the store in November.

No. 5 Grand Arcade, Leeds, LS1 6PG. 0113 243

SHOES

“I’m wearing a pair of 1940s bedroom slippers

made of black satin. They’re £39.50.”

STOCKINGS

“I’ve got one of a range of seamless stockings

on, they’re new, obviously. They’re part of the

burlesque range that we’ll be selling at UpStairs.

They’re £6.50 a pair and come in black and nude.

They all have the fully fashioned heel and seam up

the back.”

UNDERWEAR

“I’m actually also wearing one of our girdles from

UpStairs. It’s £36 and it’s got six suspender straps

on it to keep the seam bang straight. I’ve even got

ones with eight straps. I find if you only have two

straps on each leg it can go a bit skew whiff!”

DRESS

“My dress was one I bought from the shop. It was

£75 and it’s a 1946 black crepe with floral print. It’s

an original 1940s.”

CARDIGAN

“The cardigan I’m wearing over the top is actually

a BHS cardigan. I really like the big buttons and it

goes with the dress. It’s going to be difficult for

anyone to be head to toe vintage, and I’m a big

advocate of mixing and matching high street and

vintage.”

BAG

“I love this bag — it makes me think of Audrey

Hepburn. It’s Italian from 1954 and it costs £35.50.

It’s gorgeous.”

JEWELLERY

“The black bracelet is from Accessorize which I

always wear because my daughter gave it to me,

and the gold bracelet and necklace I’ve had for a

long time which my Mum gave to me. We’re big

into jewellery. We sell a lot of sparkly bits, generally

50s stuff, costume jewellery and glass beads.

We sell Lily de la Mer jewellery here, the signature

pieces tend to be shiny and sparkly, often with

stones in them.
